ORANJESTAD – Drie gewichtheffers, een uit Canada, eentje uit Nederland en een uit Engeland, trainen momenteel op Aruba, samen met hun Arubaanse collega’s. De drie kwamen afgelopen zomer uit op de Olympische Spelen in Tokio.
De Canadees Boady Santavy veroverde in Japan de vierde plaats op het onderdeel snatch. Enzo Kowurge, die voor Nederland uitkwam, eindigde bij de Spelen op de zesde plaats. De Britse Emily Campbell kwam met een zilveren medaille thuis.
Gewichtheffers die met deze kampioenen willen trainen hebben daar nog tot 5 januari de tijd voor. De trainingen worden gehouden in sportcomplex Frans Figaroa in Noord op Aruba.
