WILLEMSTAD – Het verblijfstoerisme op Curaçao heeft zich in de tweede helft van vorig jaar spectaculair hersteld van de eerste maanden, toen er nauwelijks toeristen kwamen.
Vanaf juni zochten vooral Nederlanders het eiland op. Ten opzichte van 2019 kon de schade niet hersteld worden. Toen kwamen er ruim 450.000 toeristen naar het eiland, vorig jaar kwam Curaçao uit op ruim 250.000.
Op dit moment zit het eiland weer op het niveau van voor de pandemie. Vorige maand kwamen er over de 40.000 toeristen naar het eiland, van wie bijna 25.000 uit Nederland. Een record.
Gemiddelde bleven de Nederlanders 12,5 nacht. 2,5 meer dan voor de coronacrisis.
