WILLEMSTAD – Het marineschip de Zr. Ms. Holland is terug in Nederland. In acht maanden tijd deed het stationsschip een recordvangst van 6.600 kilo drugs. 27 mensen werden overgedragen aan de Amerikaanse autoriteiten.
De Zr.Ms. Holland is uitgerust met een NH90-maritieme gevechtshelikopter. Die verleende in augustus ook noodhulp aan Haïti, vanwege de aardbeving. De bemanning is op Curaçao één keer gewisseld.
Een nieuw stationsschip is er nog niet. Een deel van de bemanning van de aflossende Zr. Ms. Friesland is besmet met het coronavirus. Ook kampte het patrouilleschip met een technisch mankement.
De Friesland zet nu vandaag koers naar Curaçao. De reis duurt normaal gesproken elf dagen.
