KRALENDIJK- Naar Bonaire.nu begrijpt is er een brief van het bestuurscollege onderweg naar de kersverse staatssecretaris van Koninkrijkrelaties, Alexandra van Huffelen, waarin het ongenoegen wordt geuit over het onverwacht doorvoeren van wijzigingen in de belastingvrije som en de ouderentoeslag.
In de brief wijst het bestuurscollege (BC) op het feit dat naar haar niet gecommuniceerd is over de op handen zijnde wijzigingen. Wel is er op 28 december van het voorbije jaar een afkondiging geweest in de Staatscourant, maar het BC merkt fijntjes op die niet elke dag te lezen.
Het bestuurscollege zou in de brief ook wijzen op het feit dat een lastenverzwaring haaks staat op de inspanningen de armoedeproblematiek op de eilanden zoveel mogelijk terug te dringen. Daarnaast zou het BC in de brief wijzen op het feit dat het nieuw aangetreden Kabinet Rutte IV de toezegging heeft gedaan dat geen enkele burger er in koopkracht op achteruit zal gaan.

Met de doorvoering van de lagere belastingvrije som en het lagere bedrag aan ouderenaftrek, zijn er op de BES-eilanden wel degelijk inwoners die aan het eind van de maand minder overhouden dan vóór de jaarwisseling.

Door Bonaire.nu zijn op woensdag een negental vragen voorgelegd aan de Belastingdienst over de doorgevoerde wijzigingen en de consequenties daarvan. Tot donderdagavond laat was daarop nog geen reactie ontvangen.
