Den Haag – Binnenkort start een proef met het verstrekken van hypotheekgaranties in Caribisch Nederland. Dat schrijft minister van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties Kajsa Ollongren vandaag aan de Tweede Kamer. Die dringt er al langer op aan om de in Europees Nederland bestaande Nationale Hypotheek Garantie ook op Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba toe te passen.
Ollongren: “Een eerdere verkenning van het ministerie en Nationale Hypotheek Garantie (NHG) heeft laten zien dat de Nationale Hypotheek Garantie zoals deze wordt uitgevoerd in Europees Nederland niet één op één is in te voeren in Caribisch Nederland. NHG werkt daarom momenteel samen met Maduro & Curiel’s Bank (MCB) aan de lancering van het op Caribisch Nederland geënte product.”
Er is gekozen voor een proefperiode van 5 jaar waarin in totaal 350 hypotheekgaranties kunnen worden afgegeven. “Er wordt naar gestreefd om die pilot op korte termijn van start te laten gaan”, aldus de minister.
